Hendersonville’s 1st Music on Main St Car Show of 2018

Hendersonville's kick off to summer starts with the first Music on Main St Concert Series & Classic Car Show! The Music on Main St event happens every Friday night in the summers. Each one has an outdoor concert with dancing, with car shows alternating between the classic car show and Corvette nights. This one was the classic cars. It's nice to visit the car shows going on in our own home town. Visit one of these local classic car shows and you'll see just how many beautiful cars we have in our area! Of course, it's also nice to see a couple cars TD Customs has worked on at these car shows! The most recent classic restoration we did ...

TD Customs’ 2018 Calendar

Every year we put together a calendar of our best and most favorite restorations and paint jobs we've done that year. It typically includes our bigger restorations and custom paint jobs. This year we had a lot of pictures of our work to choose from. Take a look at this year's calendar... ~ January ~ This white 1987 Chevy Silverado came in with worn paint and rust damage, needing a full paint job. We replaced cab corners, repaired all the rust and body damage, and replaced all the glass. We also cleaned and undercoated the frame to keep rust from returning, and of course, gave it a fresh factory-original paint job back to white. Click Here to ...

1970 Plymouth Barracuda Restoration

We've got a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in the house! The '70 Cuda is a pretty rare car that has been brought to us for a full body restoration. Top Notch Towing took care of the tow, and brought us the Cuda already on an automotive rotisserie. Having the car on a rotisserie is a perk, as it makes the refinishing process a little easier. We don't have to bend down or stretch to reach certain areas, and no laying on the ground. Not all cars need to be stripped down completely or will require this much attention to every inch. Before we got started with any of the body work, we needed to strip all of the paint off the car. Since this is a ...

Red marble motorcycle paint job

Look at that gorgeous marble red paint job! Marble effect in paint is such a cool way to add some depth into your paint job. It gives you a unique custom paint job that you won't see anywhere else. This custom silver and red marble paint job was done for a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic motorcycle. This one has quite a few parts to it. There was a tank, a fairing, saddlebags, a tail bag, and side covers. The paint booth was full the day we painted this bike! This marble paint job took a silver base with red on top. The owner primarily wanted to see the bright red with only a slight marble effect (rather than seeing a lot more of the ...

Full restoration: ’82 F-150 pickup

The 1982 Ford F-150 pickup truck is one of our latest restorations that we've been working on. This one has been in the works for a few months now, needing more attention than some of the others. The last time we saw the F-150 on the blog was here, and the bed and the cab were being worked on separately. After that, we painted the cab and the front side of the bed (the part that sits up against the cab). Once these were painted, we put the bed back on the chassis to make it a complete truck again. This makes it easier to paint the entire exterior. Especially with two toned paint jobs, it's better to  have everything in place before ...

Help! Our paint cabinet is overflowing!

Hey everyone! TD Customs is running a special on motorcycle paint jobs. Our paint cabinet is literally overflowing with all kinds of cool, leftover paint. We've got many colors to choose from, including candies and pearls. So, if you would like to come help us use up some of this paint, we will charge only for our labor to apply it. Cost will depend on how much you want to get painted, either just the tank or all the tins, how much, if any, body work is needed, and the paint scheme you choose. Give Tim a call at 828-505-6603 to discuss what you'd like to have done. This special also applies to helmets and possibly other small items. ...

’79 Sierra: Rust repairs & Fresh paint

This 1979 GMC Sierra Classic pickup truck was in the shop for some rust repairs and a fresh paint job. The customer wanted to keep the truck looking original with the same paint scheme. With all the rust, it was just time to do some maintenance on the truck to get it looking new again. There were some minor dings and waves that required body work. The truck was speckled with rust on the roof and other areas of the truck, such as the driver's side door. Since the rust was mostly just speckled, this was the best time to get to it. Taking care of rust early on, before it has a chance to create large holes, is a good ...

Progress: ’82 F-150 Restoration

The '82 Ford F-150 truck restoration is in full swing. This is a factory original restoration, so it'll be getting refinished and painted back to the original blue and white paint scheme. 1982 F-150 Factory Original Restoration Let's start with the Before picture... There is quite a bit of rust, so we're repairing it all, as well as refinishing the entire truck. We're also applying an anti-rust undercoat to the chassis. The cab has been repaired in certain areas, and is now in primer. The chassis has also been given a thick coat of the powerful, anti-rust application, POR-15. Once surface rust has been removed, we can apply this ...

Two-tone custom painted wheels

Painted wheels give you the option of adding a pop of color or integrating a certain paint scheme throughout the details of the car. Painting wheels is an easy way to make them your own. Painting them to your liking may be preferable to purchasing new ones or keeping ones that don't go with the rest of the car. The painted wheels above were done for the '70 Trans Am restoration we've been working on. They are painted a two-toned color scheme; silver on a gunmetal metallic grey base. As you can see in the picture, the paint really gives them a little something extra without going over the top. A little color on the wheels of your car can ...

The TD Customs El Camino

The El Camino has been painted! Rebuilding Tim's El Camino has been a dream of his for awhile now. The ELCO is his daily driver, but also the car that showcases his paint and body skills. We're excited to have made the time to work on our own car, and look forward to a summer of car shows! The paint job is completely custom, of course. Tim has been dreaming of a certain paint color for his car for a long time, but could never find just the right color. So instead, he worked with our paint specialist to custom mix his own color. He found a blue paint and added drops of violet in little by little to get just the right hint of purple. ...
