Asheville Citizen-Times Covers TD Customs’ Lumilor Bike

Last week, the Asheville Citizen-Times came out the TD Customs in Mills River to talk about our Lumilor lit motorcycle. We discussed how the paint works, how we've gotten started with it, and how great of a safety feature it is for motorcyclists. It's been great getting the word out about Lumilor and what we can do with it. Below is the full article. TD Customs on WLOS Morning News!

TD Customs got some attention on Asheville's WLOS News station Tuesday morning! It was great getting to talk about our custom paint services, including the new electroluminescent paint, Lumilor, featured on our TD Customs motorcycle. WLOS reporter, Lauren Brigman, came to the shop to check out the TD Customs motorcycle with its light up paint job, and we got to do four different live clips talking about the bike. They did the first interview at 5am, then 5:30, 6, and 6:30am. Having several live interviews over the course of the morning turned out to be really great because they were able to show the paint in different shades of light. ...

Lumilor Lit Motorcycle in Action

Electroluminescent paint turns your motorcycle into a light bulb that you can turn on and off with a switch. We wire the paint job directly to the motorcycle, which allows you to easily control when you want it to be lit. It'll increase your visibility out there on the roads, and turn heads with how cool it looks at night and in the evenings. Check out this quick video of the Lumilor lit motorcycle out at night. We definitely get a ton of attention when we take the bike out at night. Having a paint job that lights up is something so new that it turns a lot of heads, and has everyone asking questions about it and wanting to look closer. ...

The TD Customs Motorcycle

TD Customs presents our own custom painted motorcycle with blue lace effect and electroluminescent paint. The TD Customs Motorcycle We recently sold our older bike, and bought this newer one - a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 from 191 Highway Motorsports. When we were looking at different bikes, we knew we wanted one with a large tank and hard bags that we could paint to really stand out. This one is bigger and more comfortable, and of course got a brand new custom paint job right away. Our TD Customs Motorcycle is all about the paint. It is painted to match the El Camino, with the same custom mixed blue paint, and the matching lace pattern ...

Motorcycle Safety: Increasing Visibility

The most important aspect of motorcycle safety is visibility. Motorcyclists need to be visible while out on the road. So many accidents happen because of other drivers not being able to see the motorcycles that share the road with them. Motorcycles are at a slight disadvantage because they are smaller than the average car and aren't easily noticed. Drivers tend to look out for other cars and trucks on the road, but fail to notice the motorcycles that might right near them. The more visible bike riders are, the safer they will be. Motorcycle Safety Tips Here are a few tips on how to increase visibility and stay safe while riding... Get a ...

Skoal Bandit Motorcycle Paint Job

The Skoal Bandit motorcycle has a pretty distinct look to it, including specific decals and colors that make it what it is. These bikes are fairly recognizable, and specifically well known for their coloring and decals. The picture below is of another Skoal Bandit motorcycle that we used as a design guide, along with a few others we found online. This is the look of a typical Skoal Bandit motorcycle. The motorcycle was being painted for Lance Gamma, a motorcycle shop that specializes in building these custom Gamma crotch rockets. The owner brought in the motorcycle parts to be painted, as well as some other parts to use as a design guide. For ...

Motorcycle paint touch ups

Sometimes the motorcycle paint jobs we get aren't for full custom designs, but for small motorcycle paint touch ups, such as the little dents or dings that happen along the way. We can touch up existing paint jobs by taping off certain areas or possibly blending in the new paint with the old. This will depend on what the motorcycle parts are like and what the design is. If we can work with it, we will, like in this case. These bike parts were white with a custom grey water mark design with black accents on them, which the owner wanted to save. We didn't do the custom paint design. We just painted the white on all the parts so they were rid of all ...

It is that time of the year! Time for warm weather, sun and perfect riding conditions. We love getting out on the bike as much as we can during the Spring/Summer/early Fall months.
