Time to paint your car a different color?

Let’s do it!

You don’t have to wait for a ‘reason’ to paint your car a different color. Just wanting to change up the look of your car is reason enough.

Painting your car a different color will drastically alter the look of your car. Whether you have outgrown the color of your car, never liked it in the first place, or just want to change up the car you drive and look at every day, we’ve got you covered. We specialize in paint, and especially love any custom paint job we are able to do.

If you’re the type of person who loves one-of-a-kind things and having something completely custom, we are always happy to discuss paint schemes, let you look through the paint catalogs, and come up with the perfect look. It’s fun doing a paint job that you won’t see on everyone else’s car, like this Dodge Charger Shelby.

Sometimes you just know it’s time to paint your car a different color because the old paint color is old and fading, getting sun damaged, or the clear coat is peeling. In this case, we will repair any body damage before painting the new color. Do you want the car painted back to the original color? Or if we’re painting the whole car anyway, would you rather change up the paint? Your car is a representation of who you are, so why not have the exact color you want? Choosing a new paint color from a paint catalog also gives you a lot more options for colors than the manufacturer paint that may be available for your make and model.

Before/After: First paint job on the Mazda RX7

You may have seen one of our recent paint jobs before… This week we changed up the color once again on a Mazda RX7 that we recently painted to be two-toned. The car started out all white. A couple months ago, we painted the back end and bottom pieces. The owner loved it, but will be the first to tell you that he is very indecisive. He has lots of ideas for how to make this car look cool. (How could he not?) After driving it for awhile, he decided he wanted to go all black with it, and we got it back on the schedule.

It didn’t take much to paint the car a different color in this case. We had just done a paint job for the car, so we knew it didn’t have any body damage. We just had to paint black the parts that has stayed white last time. The process for a paint job with no body work includes sanding it, prepping it, painting it, and sanding and polishing it again. Here is the Mazda RX7 after we painted it all black.

This race car is very cool already, but that paint job looks great! And who knows, we may have it back in the shop again, maybe to add some accents, and the owner is even considering some Lumilor.

When it comes to how you want your car, truck or motorcycle to look, it’s all personal preference. You are the one who is going to be looking at it every day, so you have to love it. Let us know how we can make you love your car even more!

How can you really change up the look of your car?

lumilor electroluminescent paintWe now offer electroluminescent paint jobs! TD Customs is a Certified Lumilor Lab, providing paint that lights up like a real lamp. Lumilor can be applied to any material that a regular paint can, but will illuminate when charged, and you control the light with a simple switch. It is the newest, most revolutionizing advancement to the paint industry. See our Electroluminescent Paint FAQ page for more info, and contact us with any other questions.

If you want to change the look of your car without an entirely new paint job, electroluminescent paint may be a fun way to do it. A Lumilor paint job can be made to be entirely invisible when the light is turned off, and shine bright when you turn it on. How impressive is that?
