Full Paint ~ Beautiful Blue Motorcycle Parts

We love restoring motorcycle parts. You see such a huge difference in a short amount of time. Plus, many times, we get to use bright, bold colors like on these Harley parts. Booth pic after paint Before we do any motorcycle paint job, we make sure the surface (the body) of all the parts are flawless. We smooth out any imperfections, like dents, dings or scratches. We take care of any rust. The surface has to be perfect for the paint to lay out perfectly as well. When the surface is perfectly straight and the paint is sprayed, it looks smooth as glass. Check out the smooth reflection in this side cover. Smooth reflection! This blue ...

Airbrushed Skull Paint Job

This Harley-Davidson got a custom airbrushed skull paint job! Tim, owner and expert painter that he is, has been working on new airbrush options and these skulls are killer! Harley-Davidson emblems, or any logo, can be recreated with vinyl and then painted in any color. This allows us to go with any color scheme you want, while keeping the logo/ emblem in tact. In this case, we went with a classic Harley-Davidson emblem. The first step in this paint job was to lay a silver base. The green color is the vinyl lettering that will ultimately stay silver. Then, Tim airbrushed the different skulls on top of that, using various shading ...

The VW Thing Restoration

The 1974 Volkswagon Thing was one of the more unique vehicles we've had in the shop. It's a bright yellow convertible Thing that needed new floor pans welded in, some body work, and a fresh paint job. Here is what it looked like when it first came in... '74 VW Thing - Before The first thing we do with our restorations and paint jobs is remove the doors and other parts. Then, we get right to sanding. The VW Thing had rust on the floor, so we replaced the entire floor pan. Depending on the amount of rust, we may choose to repair just the one area, or weld in all new floor pans. Before In the following picture, you can see the difference ...

Econoline Van – Custom Two Toned Paint Job

'65 Ford Econoline Van BEFORE pic The 1965 Ford Econoline van got quite the TD Customs transformation. It came in with a two toned paint job, with red on the bottom and white on top. It also needed some rust repair, new rocker panels and other body work before paint. Erick doing some metal work to the rocker panels Metal work rust repair Like always, the metal work was the first thing we dived into. When there is any rust on a body of a vehicle, you need to cut it all out before doing anything else. Rust spreads very quickly and easily, so taking out the existing rust is the only way to reverse the rusting process. Once the rust is ...

For January we have the 1931 Chevy Cabriolet that we did body work on and painted in parts. When this one left our shop, it was in pieces The owner had done a lot of work on the case, and wanted to assemble it himself. He also added a black vinyl top that compliments it really well. This classic car is a beauty! Read more about the '31 Chevy Cabriolet. In February, we're looking at the impressive Polaris Slingshot. The owner of the Slingshot came to us from over 3 ...

Custom Painted SUV – Basic No Longer

A custom painted SUV isn't something you see everywhere. It all started when we decided to put a TD Customs decal on the back of my car - a white 2008 GMC Envoy Denali. I figured I might as well advertise a little while I'm driving around town. That could have been it, but we got to thinking, wouldn't it be cool if it were a little custom though? After all, custom paint jobs are what we're all about. Initially, my idea was to simply sand off the clear and apply a new clear coat with rainbow metal flake. The same metal flake that is on Tim's shop truck. We've painted rainbow metal flake on a white car before. In the shade, it still looks basic ...
