Mountain Motor Show ~ 4.3.17
The Mountain Motor Show was this past weekend at the WNC Ag Center, and there were a lot of awesome looking cars and trucks to be seen. It was a good time!
Cars were displayed both inside and outside, with the ones inside being judged for best in their categories, as well as Best in Show and People’s Choice. There was a good variety of old classics and new modified vehicles. The car that stole the show with two awards was a ’37 Studebaker.
TD Customs was there with the El Camino on display. It has our own custom blue and silver paint job, with lace print on the roof, the side sail panels and the scallops on the hood. Quite a few people liked the thumbs up hood ornament, and lots more took notice of the unique custom paint job. Read more about the TD Customs ELCO.
We also had the TD Customs motorcycle there for the motorcycle category. There were a lot of people who came up and were interested in the Lumilor paint job on it. It needed to a be a touch darker in there to get the full effect, but it definitely stood out. For those that don’t know, our motorcycle is painted with an electroluminescent paint product that is wired to the motorcycle’s battery for power. We can apply Lumilor to any surface that you can paint, and thus create light on nearly any object with a flip of a switch.
The show is put on by 105.9 The Mountain, and they plan on doing it annually. Last year was the first Mountain Motor Show. We didn’t display anything, but we did attend. We ended up seeing one of the restorations we did there, a ’56 Buick Special. Check out last year’s Mountain Motor Show.
The classic car shows at the WNC Agricultural Center work out great for us at TD Customs. Our shop is right down the road, about 3 miles away, across from the Ingles in Mills River. While we also offer collision repair, our body shop specializes in classic car restorations and custom paint jobs. These flawless cars and trucks are right up our alley!
