Spoiler Alert! Custom molded spoiler

While we do all kinds of auto body repair work, TD Customs is all about the custom modifications that make a car totally unique. It's what we love to see and what we love to do. It's always fun to see what personal touches people want on their vehicle. This 2006 Nissan 350z came in needing a spoiler custom molded to the body of the car. As you can see from the picture, the black aftermarket spoiler was initially just attached to the back. It doesn't look bad, but it sure does make a world of difference to see a spoiler molded to the car itself and painted to match rather than the black spoiler simply attached to the back. Here is the ...

1967 Ford Mustang: Bodywork & Paint

The 1967 Ford Mustang has been painted, and looks great! The owner picked custom colors for the classic car. One is the Sonic blue pearl color we see on the main body. The other color is a grey/silver color for small accent pieces, such as all the trim and exterior pieces. When we last updated the blog, the Mustang's inner door jambs and underneath the hood and trunk had been painted, and the car was in primer. Here it is all put together and ready for fresh paint. There was body work needed all over the car, specifically on the hood, the roof and the trunk lid. To see more on the body work part of this classic restoration, check out ...

TD Customs’ 2017 Calendar

The TD Customs 2017 calendar is out! There are so many beautiful paint jobs and classic restorations that leave our shop. The calendar is a way they can live on and we can still see them! This is the 3rd calendar we've done, and we'll likely make it a tradition. Each year, we go through all of our restorations and big paint jobs and select the best 12 to go in the calendar for the upcoming year. It's a great way to show off our work all year round, and we tend to miss seeing some of the really cool cars we've done anyway. 2017 TD Customs Calendar We start January off with the 1968 LeMans we restored and painted this year, back to the factor...

Little Red Corvette: A Race Car

One of the latest paint jobs we've been working on is this 1981 Chevy Corvette. With its huge rear tires, roll cage, and now a bright red paint job, this race car is definitely an eye grabber! The car came to us in primer. The owner had done some of the body work on his own, and painted the door jambs. He did a great job getting the body work started. We just needed to fix a few cracks in the fiberglass and finish up the minor body waves down the panels, and, of course, get it painted. Here is the Before picture.. The paint color is Brilliant Red Metallic. For this race car paint job, the customer actually brought us the paint. It ...

1968 Pontiac LeMans Restoration

The latest classic restoration to leave TD Customs was the 1968 Pontiac LeMans. When it came in, the car needed body work and a variety of other repairs. It was green, and getting refinished back to almost the same color, yet slightly darker. Here is what the Lemans looked like Before... The biggest part of every restoration is making sure the body of the car is as smooth and straight as possible. Specifically with this car, we also had to make sure to realign the panels with the correct gaps, which was an issue. Making sure all the panels, such as the doors and the hood and trunk, is very important. We make sure everything lines up ...

Let’s make your car different than all the rest

Have you ever walked up to a car thinking it was yours, and it wasn’t? Ever wish your car could stand out from all the rest? Well, you don't have to go out and buy a brand new vehicle to get that new look. If you’ve been feeling down on your car and thinking it’s time for an upgrade, consider sprucing it up through a paint job or some custom modifications. Specific makes and models come in set colors. Maybe you get your choice of a few different paint options, but that's it. Plus, buying a new vehicle is costly, and you’ll eventually run into the same scenario of seeing “your” car everywhere you go. It doesn't take a ...

Body repairs on cars involves a lot of prep work!

TD Customs does a lot of body repairs on cars that have just gotten into little fender bender accidents and need minor collision repair. There is a lot work involved in these jobs. Luckily, we have it down to a science at this point. Tim has years of auto body and paint experience. He will completely repair any body damage so that you'd never be able to tell there was an accident in the first place. Sometimes people are surprised by how much is involved in doing even minor body repairs on cars. There are a lot of steps involved, including the much needed prep work. When you watch the car remodel shows on TV, like Overhaulin' or Fast N Loud, ...

Custom painted wheels: A subtle, yet significant upgrade

Custom painted wheels can really add a unique, yet simple look to your car. These wheels were painted silver, with small touches of black on the inside edges and a thin black line around the side. These wheels look classy with the silver base and small touches of black, and there are tons of possibilities for other color schemes. They can be painted to match the car, to contrast the majority color, or as a compliment to a two-toned car. Custom painted wheels are a subtle upgrade to the look of the car that make it stand out from all the other wheels and rims out there. Tim recently added a red pinstripe to his black El Camino wheels. It ...

Minor touch ups keep the classics looking new

The '61 Pontiac Bonnaville is back in the shop for a touch up on some old body work. This is a big car - 22 feet long! That's bigger than Tim's old party boat, he says. When we started in this business, the goal was to have a great client-base of people that loved our auto body work so much that they returned for all their paint jobs and collision repairs. We are starting to see a lot of customers come back for more touch ups and repairs, and to get work on their other vehicles done as well. Repeat customers are a sign we're doing something right, and we are proud to say we have many! If you'd like to be one of them, contact us today!
