Ducati tank paint job

Sometimes all you need is a little change. That was the case with this Ducati tank paint job. The tank was in for a subtle paint and logo change. It started off a vivid white color with a bright red block letter 'Ducati' logo. The Ducati logo with block letters is their current logo, while the script was their older logo. Replacing the newer logo to the script version gives it more of a vintage vibe. Here is what the Ducati motorcycle tank looked like Before... The owner of the bike had a tiny decal of the Ducati logo he wanted. Many times, we can find logos and certain other images online for our printer to print out for us. This one ...

Indian Motorcycle Paint Job

We have been doing a ton of motorcycle paint jobs lately. I guess we aren't the only ones getting excited about for riding season! The weather is getting nicer here in the WNC/ Asheville area, and we can't wait to take the bike out for a cruise. If you're thinking about a new paint job for your motorcycle, now is the time to bring it in! One of the latest bike paint jobs was for an Indian motorcycle. We needed to paint the tank, fenders, headlight housing and a couple other small pieces. The owner chose the colors from our paint catalogs, choosing a brownish red color with cream and gold for the accents. The 'Indian' name and pinstriping ...

Red marble motorcycle paint job

Look at that gorgeous marble red paint job! Marble effect in paint is such a cool way to add some depth into your paint job. It gives you a unique custom paint job that you won't see anywhere else. This custom silver and red marble paint job was done for a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic motorcycle. This one has quite a few parts to it. There was a tank, a fairing, saddlebags, a tail bag, and side covers. The paint booth was full the day we painted this bike! This marble paint job took a silver base with red on top. The owner primarily wanted to see the bright red with only a slight marble effect (rather than seeing a lot more of the ...

Tis the season for bike parts!

Riding season is almost here! We get just as excited to finally take our motorcycle out for a cruise when this time of year rolls around. The sun is out, and it's time for some wind therapy! We always see a jump in motorcycle paint jobs right before Spring, and this year is no different. In the last month, we've done quite a few motorcycle paint jobs. Some are brought in for full paint jobs, others just need their existing paint jobs touched up. One recent motorcycle paint job was a candy purple paint job for an '86 Honda Shadow 1100. Another motorcycle paint job we did recently was a complete color change for a 2002 Suzuki GSXR crotch ...

TD Customs Featured in Bold Life Magazine

TD Customs was featured in the March edition of Bold Life Magazine. We are excited to share our story with the Hendersonville and Asheville communities. The article covers Tim's start in the industry and his passion for restoring cars. It discussed the collision repair and classic restoration work we do here at the shop, as well as some other interesting projects. In the article, we talked about Tim's grandma's infamous 1939 Chrysler (Ruthy) that we are currently working on, and how important the restoration is to the family. There was, of course, talk of our light up paint, Lumilor, that you can see on our motorcycle. TD Customs is the ...

Help! Our paint cabinet is overflowing!

Hey everyone! TD Customs is running a special on motorcycle paint jobs. Our paint cabinet is literally overflowing with all kinds of cool, leftover paint. We've got many colors to choose from, including candies and pearls. So, if you would like to come help us use up some of this paint, we will charge only for our labor to apply it. Cost will depend on how much you want to get painted, either just the tank or all the tins, how much, if any, body work is needed, and the paint scheme you choose. Give Tim a call at 828-505-6603 to discuss what you'd like to have done. This special also applies to helmets and possibly other small items. ...

The Light Up Motorcycle at Myrtle Beach Bike Week

Myrtle Beach Bike Week was a blast! TD Customs was there with our light up motorcycle to show the town what Lumilor is all about. Myrtle Beach Bike Week: Fall 2016 Myrtle Beach Bike Week is a fun time to bring your bike and hit the town with others who share the same passion. There is a great community of motorcyclists in town during the two bike weeks they have. Plenty of bars welcome bikers and have bands throughout the night. During the day, there are also bands and vendors set up at certain bars and the Harley-Davidson of Myrtle Beach. Murrell's Inlet has a bunch of biker bars. These bars are great because they're spaced out so you can pull ...

Custom painted helmets

Custom painted helmets Don't just wear any plain black helmet you picked up at the store. Let your helmet be another accessory for your bike rides. Custom painted helmets let you take the design where you want to go. The blue/ purple/ orange helmet shows different paint design options. Here you can see some lace effect on the top, and some different fading and striping. Painting with lace is cool because there are lots of different fabrics of lace you can find. Each one is different, so you can choose the design you like best. How to Choose?! If you want a custom painted helmet, but don't know where to start, start by narrowing down the ...

The Helmet Halo

The Helmet Halo is a new portable motorcycle helmet holder that travels easily and protects your helmet from dents, scratches, and the possibility of theft. We had the pleasure of meeting Helmet Halo Owner and Asheville local, David Turner, a couple weeks ago. He brought a few Helmet Halos into the shop for us to display for our motorcycle enthusiasts. David designed the helmet halos after he cracked the mouth-piece vent on his helmet when it fell. It was a small, yet pricey replacement. Helmets are bound to take a fall here and there, so a helmet holder reduces the risk of it falling off the bike or the table or wherever you end up riding to. ...

New paint looks to shine light on motorcycle safety

FOX Carolina 21 visited TD Customs in Mills River to show the community what Lumilor electroluminescent paint is all about and how it can help motorcyclists be safe while they're out riding. There were two videos featured on their evening news program, and an article to accompany it. Check out the article below. --- GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) - There's a new kind of paint on the market, and it's helping to raise awareness about motorcycles on the road by making the bikes more visible. It's called Lumilor paint, and there are only four shops in the country that can apply the special paint. One is in our area. TD Customs is owned by Tim ...
